Week 17: Moonbirds ongoing craze, VeeFriends Series 2 launch

  1. Moonbirds have earned another $166 m over the last week, obviously being the most successful NFT drop the space has seen yet. An important point is that people have trust in the project, thanks to its founder Kevin Rose, an entrepreneur, VC investor and one of the influencers of the NFT space. His proven track record in business has made Moonbirds one of the safest projects that have emerged in a long time.

  2. Both Mutant Ape and Bored Ape projects have seen over 200% sales boost within the last seven days. A couple of days ago BAYC announced Otherside launch to take place on April 30th. There’s not much known about the upcoming metaverse drop, other than that it’ll as well include Cool Cats, World of Women, CryptoPunks, and Meebits NFTs.

  3. Murakami.Flowers Seed, another NFT project by Takashi Murakami, an artist behind RTFKT’s CloneX collection, has earned more than $48 m over the last week. However, many people in Takashi and project’s instagram accounts are claiming that they weren’t properly informed about the public raffle and got scammed, and also that many bots minted. There hasn’t been any proper response from the project’s creators yet.

  4. Following Nike's acquisition of RTFKT in December 2021, RTFKT Studios has revealed NFT sneakers project MNLTH. Since its launch, the floor has been jumping up and down constantly, with the project currently being #5 of the weekly top 10, having made $39 m sales within the last seven days.

  5. Bored Ape Kennel Club is experiencing an unprecedented 800% sales boost, following the same tendency as BAYC and MAYC. Current floor price is 14.25 ETH.

  6. VeeFriends Series 2 is the next step in the evolution of the VeeFriends NFT project by Gary Vaynerchuk. The public mint is scheduled for April 25th.

  7. Akutars, a pfp collection of the Akudreams project by former baseball player Micah Johnson, was minted last week in a dutch action where the lowest price was ultimately the price everyone paid, i.e. people who bid and bought it higher were supposed to get refund so that the final payment was the lowest. This was the first project that actually did it, which was pretty awesome. However, they’ve been having troubles with refunding the holders, but are reportedly working on resolving this issue. Acutars has already collaborated with Puma and Epic Games, and become a part of the expanding Akuverse.

  8. Meebits has announced its collaboration with BTSE trading platform, not disclosing any details yet. The project’s sales volume has increased by 280% over the last week, taking them to #14 of the NFT collections rating.

  9. Deadfellaz NFT collection has signed with the global talent, entertainment and sports company UTA, which will help to grow the project through brand partnerships, merchandising, gaming, and live events. UTA has already facilitated more than 30 NFT drops and partnerships since its launch in 2021. The Deadfellaz project’s sales volume has increased by 250% after the news came out, with current floor price being 1.93 ETH.

  10. One of the remarkable projects we’d like to mention is Nemus, an NFT collection aimed at saving the Amazon rainforest. Nemus acquires at-risk land in the rainforest and creates a series of collectible NFTs, each tied to a unique geolocation within the land. A portion of sales from NFTs pays for operations and the purchase of the land, while the remaining proceeds are stored in the Nemus Treasury. With the help of the Nemus DAO, the Treasury then funds economic and social activity on the land.
